🎉 From Fair Mishap to Father-Son Success: Reuben’s Dragon Inkattoo Adventure!

At a recent local fair, while I was busy running our stall, my son Reuben (10) went exploring—and came back with an airbrush tattoo he'd just had done at another stand. He wasn’t happy. Despite the £7 price tag, the the lines had bled under the stencil, and it looked rushed. Reuben, never one to hold back, said:
“I could do better than that!”
That moment sparked a brilliant idea. He asked if he could run a Dragon Tattoo station at our next event—right there on our stall. I loved the enthusiasm, but wanted to find a better, easier way than airbrushing for him to start off.
🐉 Swapping Airbrush for Inkatoo: The Smart Choice
A little digging into airbrush tattoo kits showed they were a lot of effort—messy compressors, overspray issues, expensive maintenance, and, frankly, underwhelming results. That’s when I discovered Inkatoo through the Temporary Tattoo Store UK.
Inkatoo looked to be teh perfect solution:
Mess-free and easy to use – No airbrush gear, just clean, simple application.
High-quality results – Crisp, vibrant tattoos that dry quickly and look amazing.
Kid-friendly kits – Great stencils, safe ink, and simple instructions.
Affordable and fun – Excellent value, especially for young entrepreneurs!
So, I ordered a kit for Reuben, stocked it with cool dragon-themed stencils, and told him, “You’re on!”
🎂 Birthday Party Bootcamp
Before the big fair, we gave Reuben some real-world practice at my daughter’s 13th birthday party. The Inkatoo tattoos were a hit! Reuben got more confident applying them, showing off the designs, and even chatting with the guests. He was already learning valuable skills: patience, presentation, and pride in his work.
🏆 Father’s Day Fair – Shyness, Struggles & Sweet Success
On Father’s Day, we headed to the next fair, set up our stall, and gave Reuben his corner of the table. He was ready—but nervous.
For the first hour or so, he struggled to speak up and get people to notice. Naturally shy, he wasn’t sure what to say or how to draw attention. A little dejected, he sat back while others passed by.
So I offered a few tips:
“Ask if they want a dragon to guard their arm!”
“Show them your favourite design—it’s the hook.”
“Smile, and let them see how cool they look!”
Slowly, it started to work.
People began to stop. A few kids sat down. Reuben grew more confident with each tattoo. He was proud. He was learning.
Then came a standout moment: a young woman in her early 20s came over, showing us the airbrush tattoo she’d gotten at the same stand where Reuben had had his done weeks before. It was a panther—but the ink had bled badly, and she wasn’t happy.
“That cost more than yours… Can you do a dragon instead?”
Reuben nodded, chose a sharp stencil, and applied one of our dragons. It looked brilliant—half the price, twice the quality. She was thrilled… and Reuben? Absolutely beaming. (We wish we’d gotten a photo!)
🌱 Lessons Beyond the Ink
What started as a simple “I can do better” moment turned into a fantastic real-world learning experience. For Reuben, the fair taught him:
Confidence – How to talk to strangers and present his work.
Resilience – How to handle slow starts and keep going.
Value of money – He saw the difference between quality and cost.
Entrepreneurship – Managing stock, giving change, making customers smile.
Creativity & Pride – Each tattoo was a chance to show off his skills.
🛡️ Inkatoo – Highly Recommended!
If you’re looking for a clean, creative, fun way to do temporary tattoos—we highly recommend Inkatoo. Whether it’s for a party, a stall, or just for fun, their kits are safe, affordable, and genuinely look amazing.

🐲 What’s Next?
Reuben’s already planning his next fair. He’s sketching out dragon designs, learning how to set prices, and talking about adding “elemental clans” to match our 3D printed dragons—fire, wind, water, solar and more.
I’ll be right there beside him, stall to stall, cheering him on.
Stay tuned for more tattoos, more dragons, and more magical mischief from the Den! ✨
Amazing work Reuben, well done, the Inkatoos looks amazing!
